Yes, we are an NDIA registered provider
Do I need an NDIS Plan to access a Mental Health Occupational Therapy assessment?
No, we have fee for service options. You can have a Medicare rebate with a referral from your GP for an Allied Health care plan or Better Access to Mental Health care plan. Depending on the plan you have from a private provider, you may also get a rebate from them for occupational therapy services. You are welcome to speak to our practice manager about the option that could work best for you.
What area do you service
We provide services in our clinic on the Sunshine Coast and home visit to all areas of the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Caboolture and surrounds, Toowoomba, Gladstone, and other areas of Queensland on special arrangement as requested
What services does Minerva provide
Minerva Allied Health provide services relating to Mental Health Occupational Therapy. These include but are not limited to OT functional assessments, intervention plans, low level Assistive Technology (AT), Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) assessments and reports. Do I need a referral to see an Occupational Therapist at Minerva
No, only if you would like to get the rebate under Medicare, then you would need a referral from your GP.

How do I make an appointment to see an OT
If you have an NDIS package use our “Refer to us” page and fill in all the details. Our office staff will then give you a call to arrange a suitable place and time for you to meet one of our OT’s.
If you do not yet have an NDIS package use our “Contact us” page to avoid the need to complete a form or referral. Our office staff will still contact you in the same way.
What is mental health Occupational Therapy?
The aim of Occupational therapy in community mental health is to increase an individual’s ability to live as independently as possible, while engaging in meaningful and productive life roles. All Minerva Occupational Therapists have completed a tertiary degree and continue to undertake regular professional development to ensure that they are up to date with current research and interventions.
How could a Minerva Occupational Therapists help me?
The Occupational Therapist will complete a full assessment so that he/she can learn more about you. Together, you will discuss which issues are most important to work on and what therapy approach may be best for you. Some of our interventions are listed here
How is mental health Occupational Therapy different to Psychology?
Both Occupational Therapy and Psychology can be effective for assisting those who are wanting to improve their Mental Health. Typically, a Psychologist will focus on talking through your issues and suggesting improvements. An Occupational Therapist will focus on recovery through practical interventions and assisting you to do tasks that are important and meaningful to you.
